It is recommend that a participant takes the first 2 courses - Daylighting 101 and Daylighting 102 before taking this course. It will enhance understanding on this topic. But if haven't done so, its okay. You can get started with the course. You will need to be familiar with daylighting metrics such illuminance, flux, etc.
